SYDNEY!
I love when we cruise into Sydney. Had to get up with the sun to get the early pictures.... waiting patiently for he sun to rise just so.
Then as we said good-bye to Sydney we sailed away at sunset. This too was a great photo op.
Our ship was anchored in Sydney. The two pictures above are from our ship while we were tendered. This was a minor pain as we had to be tendered in then had a shuttle to the shopping area. This is the spot where we were dropped off... just under the Sydney Bridge.
I spent a good amount of time walking all over the city during our two day stay here. Can you see our ship? So many tours in Sydney. We have been here several times so David stayed on the ship, no tours. Another perfect 2 days weather wise. I must say I do prefer more remote stops on this cruise as opposed to huge cities that feel like New York. Great place to people watch in this bustling city.
David was in the chorus onboard.... once every segment they sing a few songs before dinner. Always a standing ovation. :) I sit up front and wave to him as they get ready to sing. I take advantage of moments such as these.... :)
BRISBANE IS NEXT!
A view of the city of Brisbane from the top of a very high hill. I love Brisbane. It is a mixture of old and new. 2 million people live here. Lots of shopping, restaurants, botanical gardens, museums, a beach, and every kind of entertainment you can think of. Nice. Clean. Last time we were here they were recovering from a massive flood which happened just a few days before we arrived.
Herbert is a 4 year old male.... He is coming home with me in my suitcase. I visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, again. This time I went all out and had my picture taken with this adorable koala.
Such a 'great' feeling after the little kangaroo licks all the food from your hand with a very warm very wet tongue and soft lips.....
ewwww......
Oh...first time I saw a Mommy carrying her baby.
After out tour --- feeding kangaroos and holding the little koalas, I headed to Queens Street Mall to find my favorite Aussie pies.
Found my pies! I do remember important things in life. ..... Had these last time we were here. These are similar to the Scottish ones that Grandma McFarlane used to make. Have to get back in the kitchen and perfect that recipe....Bridies.
